Pol\u00edcia Civil de Santa Catarina, por meio do Departamento de Investiga\u00e7\u00f5es Criminais (DIC) de Joinville, com apoio da Delegacia de Prote\u00e7\u00e3o Animal de Joinville, deflagrou nesta ter\u00e7a-feira (28\/10), a Opera\u00e7\u00e3o \u201cGaiola Vazia\u201d. Foram cumpridos quatro mandados de busca e apreens\u00e3o nos bairros Vila Nova, Aventureiro, Boehmerwald e Bom Retiro. Quatro homens foram presos em flagrante, sendo autuados por recepta\u00e7\u00e3o qualificada, associa\u00e7\u00e3o criminosa e maus-tratos.<\/p><p>No total foram apreendidos 211 passeriformes e 1 psitac\u00eddeo. Os animais foram destinados ao Instituto do Meio Ambiente de Santa Catarina, onde passar\u00e3o por reabilita\u00e7\u00e3o com vistas a sua soltura na natureza.<\/p><p>A Opera\u00e7\u00e3o \u201cGaiola Vazia\u201d \u00e9 decorrente de uma investiga\u00e7\u00e3o anterior que teve in\u00edcio h\u00e1 cerca de tr\u00eas meses. Os policiais apuraram que o com\u00e9rcio ilegal de animais silvestres e anilhas eram pr\u00e1ticas constantes do grupo, sendo a principal fonte de renda de alguns dos investigados.
